New York Mandated 16 Hour Pistol Permit Training
Introducing our comprehensive and professionally designed 16-hour training course, tailored to meet the requirements of Governor Hochul's Concealed Carry Improvement Act for new pistol permit applicants in New York. Our NRA certified instructors will guide you through the course curriculum outlined by the NYDCJS. This training is mandatory for new pistol permit applicants but is not required if you already hold a NYS pistol permit.
The classroom portion will be taught with plenty of breaks and the ability to stand and move around the classroom if you choose to. Handgun-specific training will include an NRA basic pistol course, which, if completed to standard, will generate an NRA course certificate that may be used as proof of training for other courses (e.g., NRA advanced courses or some non-resident pistol permits from other states).

Think you're a pretty good shooter? Take a look at our newly-developed "TFP Handgun Standards" test and give it a try next time you're in the range! We think our standards test is a good litmus for whether or not you could benefit from some formal firearms training. If you struggle to complete the TFP Standards Test, it's a good indication that you might want to think about scheduling some one-on-one training with our qualified instructors. If you complete the standards test successfully, that shows you're ready for some more advanced firearms training! Successful completion of the TFP standards test is a requirement/pre-requisite for entry into some of our more advanced live-fire training offerings and will give you a goal to "shoot for" if your skills are not quite where they should be.
